How to connect Outlook on Mac OSX with Zimbra email account
This article shows how to connect Outlook running on Mac OSX to your Zimbra email account. This will allow two-way synchronization of
- Mail Folders
- Calendars
- Contacts
- Tasks
between Outlook on your Mac and your Zimbra email account.
This uses the MS Exchange Web Services (EWS) protocol to provide real time synchronization of email, contacts, tasks and calendar to Outlook running on Mac OSX.
The feature is currently available with the following Zimbra email Class of Service:
- Professional
- Business
- Enterprise
Adding Your Zimbra Email Account to Outlook
To setup Outlook in Mac OSX you will need your:
- Zimbra Email address
- Zimbra login password
Step 1. Open Outlook on your Mac and go to Tools > Accounts
Step: 2. Click on Add Email Account
Step 3. Enter your Email Address and click on Continue
Step 4. In the next window for the Method choose Username and Password
and enter your:
- Email Address (your Zimbra email address)
- DOMAIN\username (same as Email Address above)
- Password (Your Zimbra webmail login password)
- Server - (the same domain you use for accessing Zimbra webmail)
After entering those details above, click the Add Account button.
You should now be able to use Outlook to manage your Zimbra account on a Mac.
